Macan Turbo I’m eyeing has a weird service gap, worth paying for a full inspection first?
I’ve been looking at a 2017 Macan Turbo over at a dealer on Sheikh Zayed Road and on paper it’s exactly what I want, the right color combo with the sport chrono pack and relatively low mileage for the year, but when I sat down with the service records there’s this eighteen month gap right in the middle where nothing is documented and the seller just shrugged and said the previous owner must have used an independent shop that didn’t stamp the book, which could be totally innocent but also could be the period where the transfer case started acting up and someone just cleared the codes and dumped it, and I’ve heard enough stories about PDK issues and timing cover oil leaks on these early Turbo models to know that a gap like that is a giant question mark I don’t want to ignore, so I’m thinking of getting a proper Porsche Pre Purchase Car Check Dubai from someone who really knows the 95B platform and can plug into PIWIS to read the over rev report and check the clutch wear and see if there are any shadow codes lurking in the transmission module, because I’d rather walk away from a deal than end up with a car that needs a five figure repair right after I sign the papers, anyone used a specialist around here for a Macan inspection that actually caught something the seller was hoping nobody would find.
